Pinne e boccaglio tra i basalti colonnari: alla scoperta del mondo sottomarino delle isole dei Ciclopi e della riserva protetta dell’Isola Lachea! Snorkeling a Catania: Un angolo di paradiso a due passi dalla città!

Adatto a tutti. Se è la prima esperienza di snorkeling/immersione va comunicato all’atto della prenotazione.

L’escursione include:
- Trasporto sulle Isole (andata e ritorno) con barca dei pescatori,
- Accompagnamento da parte di una guida autorizzata dentro l’Isola e una guida snorkeling con brevetto e certificato al soccorso in mare,
- Attrezzatura fondamentale (pinne, maschera, boccaglio e scarpette da scoglio)
- Scheda di avvistamento condivisa per capire la fauna sottomarina, guida e spiegazione anche durante le immersioni. NON si tratta di un noleggio di attrezzatura, l’eperienza è sempre assistita e quidata, sia dal punto di vista didattico che tecnico.
- Soft Drink celebrativo a fine immersione
L’escursione NON include: eventuali spese di trasporto per raggiungere il punto di incontro con l’auto e/o servizi di transfer privati. Solo su richiesta si organizzano transfer con autista da Catania e provincia. Il transfer non è incluso nel preventivo ed il prezzo dipende dal numero di richiedenti.

Una nostra guida, in comunione con Il Centro Universitario per la Tutela e la Gestione degli Ambienti Naturali , vi accompagnerà all’esplorazione dell’isola Lachea, la più grande e disabitata isola dei Ciclopi. Una riserva naturale protetta unica nel suo genere. Dopo la visita dell’Isola una guida Snorkeling vi farà scoprire i fondali marini tra i faraglioni basaltici più belli d’Italia. Un tour guidato perfino nelle profondità marine tra tuffi, avventura e divertimento!
Programma dettagliato
Incontro con le guide presso il caratteristico porto di Acitrezza, di fronte alla magnifica costa ionica siciliana, proprio dove ha origine la storia dell’ Etna e dove ora sorgono le Isole dei Ciclopi. Anche l’epopea di Ulisse e di Polifemo inizia proprio da qui. Verrà quindi fornito tutto il materiale tecnico necessario all’avventura e una sacca stagna dove conservare i propri preziosi durante lo snorkeling.
Con tutta l’attrezzatura ci si imbarca su una battello di pescatori e si raggiungere l’isola Lachea, la più grande e disabitata isola dei Ciclopi. L’isola è un laboratorio universitario a cielo aperto e sarà premura della guida far visitare i bellissimi basalti colonnari che compongono le scogliere ed il magnifico museo a naturale gestito dal centro universitario e aperto solo per noi!
Dopo questo trekking di scoperta naturalistica si scende nella piscina naturale sulla costa meridionale dell’isola dove la guida di snorkeling spiegherà brevemente come utilizzare le attrezzature e come affrontare la scoperta del mondo sottomarino. Verrà quindi fornita una “scheda di avvistamento” dove sarà possibile annotare le specie sottomarine che si vedranno durante il percorso di snorkeling.
Se il mare e le capacità del gruppo lo permettono si affronterà una breve traversata a nuoto dall’isola Lachea al grande faraglione basaltico dove si farà una breve sosta per permettere alla guida di spiegare quello che si è visto durante l’immersione.
I più coraggiosi potranno cimentarsi in una simpatica gara di tuffi dal bordo stesso del faraglione. Il percorso continua quindi fino al sito denominato “scogli bianchi” dove il fondale marino cambia completamente e i colori chiarissimi del fondale baleneranno insieme ai riflessi più vividi del sole siciliano. Completata la circumnavigazione dell’isola la barca dei pescatori ci attenderà per riportare tutti al porto di Acitrezza.
Una volta toccata la terraferma vi verrà offerto un rinfrescante e gustoso drink tipico siciliano, decisamente imperdibile dopo questo tipo di esperienza!
La fine dell’esperienza è prevista per le ore 13.30/14.00 circa.

Meet up with the authorized turistic guide at Porta Uzeta next to Duomo Square at 9.30, from where we can directly enter in Piazza: The Old “Platea Magna”. Here, in the hearth of the city, still flows underground the Amenano river which crosses it since it was first built.
We will explore the dark belly of the city built with lava, reliving the beauty of the Achillian’s hot springs. One of the rooms of this roman thermal building still lies beneath the baroque cathedral. We will then proceed through the cheerful and “noisy” fish market, still to this day a symbol of one of the most lively cities of the mediterranean area.
We will then visit the Greek-Roman Theater, which will be an unexpected surprise. Hidden by the urban layer of the new Catania is one of the most elegant theaters of ancient Sicily. Built in lava stone and limestone, the Ancient Theater of Catania exhibits a unique chromatic beauty. After a glance at Via Crociferi, where the baroque exuberance explodes in an unmatched view, we will proceed towards Piazza Federico di Svevia for an unmissable and refreshing stop at the “Chiosco” here you will be offered a typical granita or a “Catania’s Seltz”, a moment that cannot be missed in every real catanese day!!
We will then go to the Ursino Castle, built by Federico II, that dominates the square and, like a picture frozen in time, the medieval fortress is surrounded by the lava front of 1669.
Our urban trekking of Catania will end in Piazza dell’Elefantino from where we will enter the Duomo of Catania to admire its architectural wonders and the charm of Saint Agata that has protected the city and its devout citizens for centuries.

A soft and emotional trek on an itinerary that will take you back in the past of 3 millennia. We will explore the canyons of the river Anapo and the Calcinara stream to discover a lush river oasis hidden in the heart of the Iblei mountains. We will discorever the mysteries of the Necropolis of Pantalica, an UNESCO world heritage site of humanity and, with the appropriate equipmen, explore a wonderful karst cave from the incredible speleotems. For those who want, the wonderful adventure ends with a dive in the crystal-clear and toning waters of the Anapo river.
